We'll be publishing some of our favourite interviews with amazing Louth women

International Women's Day

Let's celebrate Louth ladies on International Women's Day 2018

March the 8th marks International Women's Day, a day when inspiring women are celebrated all over the world.

It got the editorial team here at The Dundalk Democrat thinking about all the remarkable women from Louth we've interviewed recently.

From Ardee's Jessica Myles, who is on a mission to keep young girls playing sports, to former Louis pupil Dr Niamh Shaw the analog astronaut, to local historical figures such as Ardee's Beatrice Hill-Lowe who was the first Irish female to win an Olympic medal 110 years ago, and Dorothy Mcardle the outspoken writer, revolutionary, feminist and republican who was born in Dundalk in 1889, we've got plenty of inspiring local women for you to read about.

We'll be republishing these interviews on our website today so we can all join together and celebrate these brilliant Louth and proud ladies.
